Volcano recognises the Climate and Ecological Emergency we are facing. Climate Justice requires democratic ownership, control, and participation. As social arts practitioners in an urban setting, our Climate Justice work aims to centre the city and its people and play to our strengths – reclaiming space for play and creativity from extractive, elitist and socially exclusive practices and reinstating the importance of the public realm. We’ll create space for dissent and action within the city, bring together community initiatives, professional insight, and creative expertise, explore alternative models and visions, and create toolkits for citizens, representatives, and professionals.
