Volcano Theatre is an independent theatre company and community arts centre occupying a ground floor site in Swansea city centre leased from Beacon Cymru Group Ltd (formerly Coastal Housing).

Volcano creates original work that is playful, inventive, risky and surprising, alongside hosting touring and community events. Volcano has an established, and expanding, education and community participatory programme, linking with its host communities which are among the most disadvantaged in Wales.

The first floor of the building Volcano currently occupies has recently become vacant following the departure of Elysium studios. There is a potential opportunity for Volcano to expand operations into this space.  A feasibility study is required to assess the viability and risks of this project and support progression from RIBA 0 to RIBA 1.

Work is to start no later than October 1st, and to be completed by January 31st 2026.
