Julie is a painter who lives and works in Llangadog, Carmarthenshire. Her main focus is the landscape and its facets, particularly rock forms and lichen. The landscapes don’t represent standard observation but continued examination, looking closer for longer. 

Her works also take inspiration from the simplicity of Japanese and Chinese art forms, they have a quiet melancholy that express an honest exploration of form, colour and pattern.

The work encourages the viewer to examine what is often unseen; the minute forms of the landscape, the negative spaces in between, the often overlooked life and beauty that surrounds us.
