This panel discussion will explore script writing techniques, navigating the sector and hearing about our panellists’ experiences as practitioners.

Tracey Harris -Tracy is an artist from Swansea. Her plays have been produced by Sgript Cymru, Sherman Theatre, Mighty Theatre Washington, Grand ambition, the Gate London and Theatre 503. Her play MumFighter was recently produced by Grand Ambition and ‘Port Talbot Gotta Banksy with Sherman Theatre.  Along with Chris Rushton, she has made various BBC TV and Radio documentaries including Bafta-nominated Swansea Living on the Streets and most recently Y Dewis (S4C) Her feature film No Vacancies (Spinning Head Films); short film Reminders, won best film at Kansas Arthouse Festival and semi-finalist at New York Film Festival. Her photography has been exhibited in Ffotogallery and Made, Cardiff, chosen as part of the Higgins initiative, and featured in Broken Forms Exhibition in Rome and at Excel London. Her new photography exhibition will be at Elysium in October. 

Frankie Williams – Frankie Williams was born and raised in Swansea, South Wales and began acting professionally as a teenager, with roles in TV and film. Looking for more opportunities to hone her stage craft, she started writing and performing stand up comedy, regularly supporting big names on the U.K circuit. With her love of writing comedy and first-hand experience of filmmaking, she went on to create short-form content for online platforms and film festivals across the globe. She is currently writing a solo show for stage, as well as other projects in various stages of development.  

Geinor Styles – Geinor was born in Merthyr Tudful and attended Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen. 
In 1988, she taught drama in California before studying stage management at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. After graduating in 1991, Geinor worked with Dalier Sylw and then became resident stage manager at Theatre West Glamorgan. In 1996, she directed the award-winning play Spam Man by Dafydd Llewelyn at the National Eisteddfod in Bala. Following this success, she was invited to direct Theatre in Education productions at Theatre West Glamorgan, now Theatr na nÓg. In 1998, she became the company’s artistic director and has since directed over 30 shows for children and young people, as well as 10 productions for general audiences. 
Geinor is also a playwright and has written 15 plays for the company including the award -winning Eye of the Storm and Wallace. Her plays have been seen throughout the UK and internationally. Her recent works include Operation Julie, The Fight, and Romjul. 
In 2019, Geinor was named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She also serves on the board of Creu Cymru. 
She lives in Cardiff with her husband, Eric, their two children, Elliot and Gabriel, and their dog, Ralff. 

Pearl Andrews-Horrigan – is currently a Storyliner on the BAFTA-award winning medical drama Casualty. Before this, she assisted the Commissioning Team at UKTV. At Rianne Pictures she is the Senior Development Executive, Pearl created and managed the company’s first ever script reading window, which provided 80 writers with free feedback on their short film scripts.  
She runs Script Club Cardiff, and also oversees the annual Women X Film Festival Script Competition. Pearl’s longer works for theatre (plays, verse plays and musicals) have been supported by The Customs House, South Shields, TYPify Youth Arts Festival and The Brewhouse, Taunton, while her short plays have been performed at venues including The Arcola, The Pleasance and Hope Mills. 

Nancy Ellis – is an emerging Director and Theatre Maker from Swansea with a background in physical theatre and site-specific performance as an actor and devisor. As Associate Artist with Lighthouse Theatre, she has co-written and directed a number of outdoor, promenade performances, and was part of the team winning the Arts&Business award for Arts in the Community in 2024 with The Tides Are A-Changing. Since graduating from the University of Gloucestershire in 2021, she has been a core member of adaptation and devising teams on new writing projects, and written her own developing play, Creature of Coercion. Nancy will be directing Lighthouse Theatre’s summer tour of Wales this year with White Lies by Robert Shearman.
