#421SHOTS
Capturing Swansea's Lockdown
#421 SHOTS - A photo competition and exhibition
There were 421 days to take photos capturing the Lockdown in Swansea between March 23 2020 and May 17 2021.
#421SHOTS is an exhibition capturing the City and County of Swansea during this time.
COMPETITION CALL OUT! #421SHOTS is a photo competition which will result in an exhibition (from 24th May at Volcano). We want your photos taken in the City and County of Swansea in the period between 23 March 2020 and 17 May 2021.
There will be a winner’s prize of £100 for each age group (one for junior photographers aged 16 and under and one for those over 16).
The competition is for amateur photographers and generally those who just happened to take a photo that represented lockdown in Swansea to them. More information on this can be found in the terms and conditions. Only digital entries are accepted and they must be sent as JPG/jpeg files BY MIDNIGHT 17th MAY to vic@volcanotheatre.co.uk via email or the free online app to share larger files, WeTransfer https://wetransfer.com/ Please include your name and, if possible, a title/few words about the image(s). Also, let us know if the photos have been taken by someone aged 16 or under and so are eligible for the Junior Competition.
It really doesn’t have to be the traditional ‘perfect photo’. It’s what it says that matters. The subject can be anything from your favourite bit of road you practiced football skills on to a patch of garden you nurtured or from pavements full of used face masks to a brand new fly tipping site. Anything… *
Because we will be printing selected entries, photos should preferably be 3MB and over and no smaller than 2MB.
If possible, please send photos with the aspect ratios:
2:3
4:5
1:1
Any photos not in this aspect ratio may be cropped by us before printing.
By entering the competition you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.
We are hoping this photo exhibition will be followed by another which will give people the opportunity to capture their Swansea lockdown in other ways, such as by written or spoken word.
