Karen Elphick has lived in Swansea all her life. After leaving her job as a support worker after 16 years she turned to painting again and with the help of the employment support allowance scheme has been given the chance to turn her love of painting into a business.
“Most of the canvases and paints I use were heading for landfill or were unwanted, so I have recycled them. Many of my paintings I are painted using my fingers and I love exploring colours. Most of my paintings are unplanned and I never know how they will turn out. I paint just from the heart.” KE
