THIS IS NOT WORK
Gabe Patterson hosts ‘This is not Work’
My intentions for these online sessions are to bring LGBTQ+ individuals together to open up a conversation about queerness and creative energy during the pandemic and how we’re using or not using our own. I want to create a safe and sociable online space for LGBTQ+ people to discuss the ups and downs of motivation, how we can take inspiration from everyday life and queerness during lockdown. There’s no pressure in these sessions to come prepared or know exactly what you’re talking about, it’s a space for casual communication and sharing ideas and thoughts.
My hope is for these sessions to be a preliminary or a set up for in person workshops that I’ll hopefully be leading in a few months when lockdown restrictions have been lifted and it’s safe to do so and I’m hoping to get participants from our online sessions to bring our conversations and ideas to life through physical theatre, play and improvisation.
Coming to the online sessions doesn’t mean you have to do the in person workshops, and vice versa, but it would be fun to have you along for the journey.
