Our next series of workshops is called ‘Your Story: Our Story’. A personal and social document of Life and lockdown, an unusual year, and young people’s responses to it, focussing on self-expression and amplification of young people’s voices. Working with artist Nicky Arscott and Birchgrove Comprehensive Year 7, a series of videos and in-class workshops have been developed, stressing the importance of ‘anything goes’ documentation. Stressing the point that no medium is off-limits, and not restricted to the written word, examples could include collage, scrapbooking, journals, art, photography, videos, monologues, drama, short films, social media stories, poetry etc. We hope the public and personal results will illustrate a snapshot of the pandemic experience.
