Free Workshops
For young people aged 14-21
Try one or more of our FREE taster workshops to develop your creative skills or have a go at something new. They are led by professionals in different fields and will be fun, informal and supportive.
FRIDAY 12 AUGUST 2pm – 4pm
BOXHEADS with CATHERINE BENNETT
Catherine is a director, performer and choreographer. With her you will learn how to experiment with ideas for performing, using simple everyday props – in this case cardboard boxes!
FRIDAY 19 AUGUST 2pm – 4pm
ART TOUR with DYLAN WILLIAMS
Dylan is an artist based at Elysium Studios, (above Volcano) who draws inspiration from what he sees when walking or cycling. You’ll get a tour of the studios and a private view of an exhibition, before trying your hand at sketching or painting (outdoors, if the weather allows) with Dylan.
FRIDAY 26 AUGUST 2pm – 4pm
COSTUME DESIGN with ZEPUR AGOPYAN
Zepur is an award-winning costume and set designer and model maker, originally from Australia, based in Swansea. She has designed for performances by Volcano and National Dance Company Wales, and created freelance work. In this workshop you will sketch your own design and turn it into a prototype for a piece of costume.
